Buffalo Ladies

Hi Ladies! I'm helping a friend do some scouting for venues, and came across a few I need more info on. Anyone had any experience with Diamond Hawk Golf Club, Buffalo Historical Society (Olivers), or the Hamlin House? Is it nice? Do you know if it has an area for a ceremony? If anyone would like to add to my list of places to look, or where you are having yours, that would be great. We are working on a bit of a tighter budget, about 250 people, September dates. TIA!

Hi there! I'm getting married 9/4/10 at Beaver Island Clubhouse on Grand Island. I have only heard great reviews so far and would highly recommend the venue. We are doing are ceremony outside there. The pictures online truly do not do it justice- It's worth going to take a look at!We also looked at Buffalo Historical Society. Beautiful online pics, but to me the place looked much smaller and not nearly as grand in person. The food is also on the pricier side for Buffalo, but have heard great reviews about it.  You can do your ceremony there outside by the pond, but the park is open to the public, and it is a hot spot for wedding pics, on any given summer saturday, there will be up to 3 wedding parties there at a time for pictures, so a lot of people will be there walking around. I haven't heard anything about the other two places, good luck!!

My brother and sister in law had their wedding reception at Diamond Hawk in Aug of 2008.  It was awesome! The food was great and it was pretty spacious.  The patio was great for those that wanted to hand out and chat.  The bar was great, very spacious.  I think they did have a few issues with the coordinator beforehand though.  They were pretty accommodating, I know a few guests had special dietary requests and the food was delicious.

My sister used Oliver's for her reception (the venue was Henri's at Kleinhan's) and we loved them. Very easy to work with, and the food is delicious!! The Historical Society is SO beautiful, I wish I would have looked there for my wedding. :) It's got such a great vintage-y feel with all of the black marble- I love it!!

I just saw that you mentioned a tighter budget (skimmed over that in my first reading), and so Oliver's might not be the way to go, they are pretty pricey. Check out places such as the Marcy Casino, Lancaster Country Club (great ceremony space with a gazebo outside), and the Millenium Hotel. The Millenium has many options to work with different budgets, and the atrium is gorgeous! Hope this helps!
