Old Forge/Inlet, NY Hair and Make Up

Hello Brides and Brides-to-be,

I am getting married in Inlet, NY in Fall of 2011. I need help finding someone who can come to my parents camp (house/cabin)  to do make up and hair for myself and my bridesmaids. I am having problems finding anyone in the Western Adirondacks. All the salons online are in Saratoga Springs, Alabny, Lake George, etc and the travel cost for the 2.5-3.5 hour drive is serveral hundred dollars. I am on a budget and trying to keep down the cost of the vendor's travel if possible.

Has anyone found any great make-up and hair people in the Old Forge/Inlet/Western ADKS region?

I would actually be very interested in this information as well.  I am getting married up there next fall as well.

Hi sarahmelendrez!

I ended up booking Over the Moon Salon in Old Forge for my hair and make-up on Saturday. A woman named Linda just opened the Salon in August. She is going to have an assistant come in and help with the make-up. I found the salon through an ad in the Adirondack Express.

Thanks!  I'll have to go check them out tomorrow.  I'm actually up in Inlet/Eagle Bay right now visiting with my Mother's friends with whom we are staying with.  I just went to Petals and Pedals today and talked to the lady there about flowers for my wedding.  When is your wedding?

Thnks for the tip on Over the Moon Salon in Old Forge.  We're marrying in that area in 2012.  If I don't have to pay major travel for hair and makeup, that's a boon!

I'm getting married on Aug. 25th, 2012 at The Woods Inn! Where is everyone else getting married?

I was just married at the Woods Inn on September 17, 2011. The food was fabulous! I highly recommend the cheese ravioli with a basil pesto cream sauce and jumbo lump crab meat. The guests went nuts over it! Everyone loved the area; they all said it was the best wedding they had ever been to.
It was an amazing weekend!

Ladies, I was wondering what you paid ended up (generally) paying for your receptions at Woods Inn?  We're trying to play a old forge/inlet wedding from Arizona and its been challenging to figure out pricing without giving specific dates etc which I dont have yet.  I appreciate any ballpark numbers!

I'm getting married at the Woods Inn this June 30, 2012. I'm in the process of looking for tent rentals! DoubleUp8 who did you use? I'm so stressed about it because our whole recpetion is in the tent and I want everything to be perfect!

Hey Ladies as far as tent rentals goes I am using the person that The Woods Inn recommended. Just call them and ask for the # . He's giving us a tent ( walls or no walls depending on the weather ) , dance floor, and those nice space heater things for under $1000.00.

How is everyone's planning going? Can't wait to hear about it!
