Rochester NY DJ's

Hi - getting married in Rochester 4/1/12.  Having a hard time finding out approximate DJ costs - can anyone tell me what they've found for DJ's in Rochester area?  I'm trying to work out my budget.  Thanks :)

I'm getting married in Canandaigua and the DJ we are working with is around $900 for 5/6 hour reception. I think that is pretty average!

    I recommend
    Kevin Colangelo

    OR
    Turner Music

$900 for four hours is about the average - my advice is do not book DJs cheaper than $900

We are using Encore DJ/Rochester DJ services out of Webster for our wedding in Canandaigua.  Depending on what you want the prices vary alot.  Our base package was ~1400 for 5 hours then another 800 for all the uplighting that we wanted.  The package includes a website that are able to use/set up to make our song lists, timeline, etc.  Plus we are using two DJs one to EMcee and one to DJ.  As everyone says you pay for what you get but we did a ton of research and came so close to booking the ones we saw at a wedding in Long Island.  The guys (and girls) at Encore seem to have it all together and run their business alot like the people who we really like from LI.  Hope this helps!  Good luck!

We used Showcase Sound. They were amazing. Paid around $800 or $900. Not sure what their rates are now.

On a side note my friend used Encore and was not happy. They didn't really listen to her and messed several things up.

my friends have talked to and met with several area djs and have narrowed their choice down to two: jam-n-stam is one, and spazman spins is the other.

I'm using Turner Music Productions. He's pretty pricey $1600? but he seems really good. Has anyone heard reviews?
