Hi Everyone,

I need some help making an important decision.

My fiance and I love the idea of having a beach wedding in a warm climate, like the Florida Keys. But I keep thinking about how much it may cost my guests to get there. Not everyone is in a financial situation to take a vacation to the keys and also considering family situations. BUT, my fiance insists it should be about accomodating us and not our guest. I THINK that with 1 1/2 year notice that most of the important people I want there would be able to make it, with enough notice to save up.  So, my question would be if you have 19 months to save (estimate $1200-1500 per couple) for a weekend wedding getaway (Thurs-Sun) in the Florida $Keys, would you?

If it was family or a close friend, i would be there in heartbeat. However if it was just 'someone i knew' or a friend that isnt really close to me, i would think twice about going, and would probably just send a gift. Not only would the guest have to pay for the flight and accomodations, but they also have to pay for a gift. The Keys look like a great place for a wedding! We almost went there for our honeymoon, but FI liked jamaica better, haha.
