Buffalo Area Reception Sites

We just started planning our wedding for June of 2013.. and surprisingly enough it's coming along really easy and fast. Everything except the reception site. We are looking for something different. We would actually perfer indoors but I'm looking for something with lots of windows and something updated and modern. Every place we look at is just a stuffy room that looks like it was built in the 1960's. The ceremony is going to be at the Basilica so we would like something that will match the beauty of the church. We are inviting around 150 people and are trying to keep it to under $40 a person. Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!!

We too are getting married at the Basilica and wanted something different and modern for the reception.  We are going with the Harbour Club at HSBC Arena.  The entire side of the room is huge windows overlooking the Buffalo river.  There is also an outdoor patio with a gorgeous view of the city.  It was perfect and exactly what we wanted!  The room is very contemporary and kind of industrial.  We were very turned off by the dated, "gold and maroon" decor of many of the banquet facilities in Buffalo.  Take a look at the pics here... http://knightstudio.com/galleries/venues/Harbour%20Club/index.html
We are doing a sit-down dinner and it is considerably more than $40 a person, but I know they offer buffet and stations, so those might be in your budget.  Hope this helps!  Let me know if you have any other questions.

Have you looked at the Pearl Street Grill? You can get the upstairs, so it's private, and I love the exposed brick.
