    you could go to the better business beauru website and see what kind of reviews or what grade he has.

    We're using him. I was fairly happy with our engagement session, but for the wedding will probably ask him to let us do our own thing rather than take so many posed shots. I know his website sucks, so here's a slideshow his assistant sent me of a recent wedding:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IQqsq83VXGYI think these are a lot better than the stuff on his site.If you're interested in trying him out but aren't sure, you could always ask him to shoot an engagement session ($85) to decide, and if you book with him, he'll apply that toward a package that includes the engagement shoot. That's what we did.
