Nearby Locations for a Honeymoon?

We live in Nashville and were hoping to find a nice place to go for a honeymoon thats within driving distance. I was considering the Charleston/Savannah area. I am NOT interested in Gaitlinburg though. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance!

There's always Alabama, to the beach is about 10 hrs. drive from Nashville, and very nice...more family oriented than singles so that makes if quieter!  Also lots of history in Ala., or KY.  If you want something more "lively", you could go to Atlanta.  There's a great winery there, can't remember the name of the Chateau, but it's beautiful!  If you don't know which one i'm thinking of, i'll look it up for you.  Hilton Head Island would be lots of fun too, if you have the funds for it!

It's kind of a far drive from Nashville but we are doing our honeymoon at Grove Park Inn in Asheville, NC. I have heard wonderful things about it and am so excited. We visit Asheville regularly and love the area.

Destin, FL and that area are not far from Nashville-- about an 8 hour drive.  Nice beach, laid back vibe.Charleston or Savannah would also be great spots, depending on how long you're going.  I think either would be great for a long weekend but you'd kind of run out of stuff to do.  One bonus if you go to Savannah is that Tybee Island (with a beach) is nearby so you could stay part of the time in Savannah and part on Tybee and get the historic city + beach in one trip.  Or, if you're into camping, there's an amazing national wildlife refuge on Cumberland Island, a short drive + ferry ride from Savannah (there's also a super duper fancy hotel on the island, Greyfield Inn, that you might check for specials if that interests you).  Good luck, HTH!

We're considering Virginia. There are lots of beautiful, yet affordable bed and breakfasts. It's got a lot of lovely historical sites- to please my hubby to be. And lots of "other stuff" for me. Alabama has lovely beaches. Most are rated higher then those in FL that we've all heard the name of.I know it's tough. We're looking for somewhere close so we don't have to spend tons of $$, but isn't in TN

Hilton Head is a nice place. It's close enough to Savannah to take a day trip and it's really nice and laid back there. Wonderful restaurants, nice beach. Clean.

We're thinking about going to the Outer Banks in NC.  We may stop in Ashville on the way there and stay at the Biltmore
