Glamorous Indoor Venue in East TN

Hello everyone!

I am looking for a venue in or around Knoxville (I am open to surrounding cities- Maryville, Loudon, etc, but probably not Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area, as we are from East TN and see that area as a touristy thing...) Unlike many, I want my ceremony and reception indoors (I envision pretty ballrooms with chandeliers) and I would like to have both at the same venue, but different rooms... And to accommodate up to 300 people. I have yet to find anything. The only places I have found to consider are the Marriott and Crowne Plaza, as they have several ballrooms that may work. Any other ideas? Every venue I look into are either too small, or are outdoor venues. HELP!

Thank you!  :)

I've lived in Knoxville my whole life, and I'm struggling to come up with anything.

The Convention Center would have everything but the chandeliers. It is a convention center though. http://www.knoxvilleconventioncenter.com/

The Women's Basketball Hall of Fame is actually a gorgeous venue, with marble and big windows, that would work. No chandeliers again, though, and there would of course be sports memorabilia (which could be a cool angle to work from if you or your FI are into sports). http://www.wbhof.com/

The Sunsphere used to have a catering company inside that did weddings, but they went out of business with the recession. You can still rent out the Sunsphere though through the Public Building Authority. http://www.ktnpba.org/pba/index.php

Through UT, you can also rent out the luxury areas of Neyland Stadium, which would be really awesome if you are Vols fans! http://tennesseeathletichospitality.com/

My FI and I are having our reception in the ballroom at the UT Visitor's Center, which I think is too small for your wedding but you might check! It's in the building that used to be the faculty club, overlooking the Tennessee River. The contact is Keri Tyson with UT Catering, number is 865-974-2406.

I hope this helps some! I don't really think of glamorous when I think of Knoxville, so these are the best I could come up with!

I can't think of any other ideas than what PP mentioned.

Our reception was at the Crowne Plaza, and I can't say enough about how fabulous it was. We used the beautiful Summit Ballroom, the food was delicious, and the staff was incredibly classy and professional. They were also very flexible with our bar expenses, and even let us take home open bottles at the end of the night.

If you want to see photos of the event, check out my married bio.

Just to give an update, I just looked up the Sunsphere and it just reopened like last week! I FB'd the fan page to get more info like who to call/email and stuff. Just FYI :)

Women's Basketball Hall of Fame is stunning! I'd also look at the Knoxville Museum of Art. Good luck!
