Outside wedding??

I am planning an outside wedding the 3rd weekend in June. Do you think it will be too hot? Any ideas on how to keep my guest cool. I am on a budget...The ceremony will be in the evening around 6:30/7:00.

I am doing mine the 2nd week of June. It will be outside as well around that same time frame. From being in outdoor June weddings the past two summers, it will be hot. But certainly having it later in the evening helps. The one last summer was at 3 p.m. and was super hot and we were dodging storms that time of day. I am having mine a cover right off of the lake and so the area mine is in is covered with trees so that is certainly going to help. So if you haven't picked a venue for sure, I'd def suggest a shaded area.

You could print your programs on little handheld paper fans and you can get little personalized bottles of water that you coul put in buckets with ice (like some of the metal ones and dress them up with ribbon or some form of decoration) put them at the table where they sign and and receive the programs. That way they have a somethign fan themselves with and some cold to sip on during the ceremony if they'd like.  Another thing you have to think of with an outdoor wedding in the evening are the bugs. You could probably go to a wholesale store and find bulk OFF wipes that the guests could grab too, b/c the next day when someone is reminded of your wedding the last thing you want to them think of are the numerous bug bites!

I am having my wedding this weekend outdoors, and it's bound to be hot. We have 12 clamp-on fans for the tents, two huge tubs of iced down water bottles at the entrance, and fans as our favors.

I think in Tennessee it is going to be hot in June. I am generally opposed to outdoor weddings in the summer south of the Mason-Dixon line because of the intense heat. But, you can certainly make accommodations - just remember to put your guests' comfort high on your list. Have fans, ice, plenty of water available. And obviously, the later you can start the festivities, the better!

I have to agree with rubygem00.  Outdoor weddings in TN in the summer are brutal.  I have already been to two of them this summer and every single guest was beyond miserable and unhappy.  If this is something that you are dead set on, I would have water available and programs shaped like fans.  And if there is an option for the location to have some shade, I would also suggest that.

    I

recently got married on June 5th, 2010 @ 6:30pm...OUTSIDE and it turned out INCREDIBLE!!!

There are a few things that you can do to help with the heat.  First, the guys did not wear a jacket.  They wore black dress pants and shirt with a tie.
We had personalized waterbottles (labels from Oriental trade) all over the place in big colored tins (our wedding colors - pink & orange).  We also had a lemonade stand for all the guest as they were being seated.  It was really cute...some small 8-10 year old (daughters of family friends) served them.
Our programs were fans as well.

The main thing is it is your wedding...if that is what you want, you can make it work!!!
