Wedding Colors

My fiance & I just switched our venue so we had to move up our wedding date to July. Our venue is rustic & the colors we have picked out are red, turquoise & navy. With it being a July wedding now does that color combo seem too 4th of July? What colors do you suggest for a rustic July wedding??

Re: Wedding Colors

  • I don't like it when people choose too many colors.  Pick one color and maybe one accent.  That's it.  Red/turquoise/navy doesn't sound appealing anyway to me.
  • I agree with PP. The current color scheme just doesn't sound appealing. If your venue is rustic maybe just use turquoise and brown or red and brown....brown is a good color to go with any rustic venue.

    IMO
  • I think it might... Maybe drop the red? I am having a rustic wedding as well and our colors are navy and daisy yellow. That might look better without sacrificing all your colors.
  • I don't like when people just pick one or two colors.  It's a wedding not a high school pep rally after all.  Red, turquoise & navy sounds VERY July to me.  The turquoise reminds me of pools/lakes, red and navy for the fourth of july (which is good).  I'm picturing some stripes too maybe or some bright colored candy to add the "summer" feel.  Just some fun ideas.  I <3 brainstorming sessions!

  • Who cares if the PP think the colors are appealing to them or not? Its your wedding, and I think they will look great!

  • I think you should go with what you like. We are using Olive Green and Navy Blue for an April wedding.
  • Go with what you like, it will be fine.
  • I went to a wedding that was actually on 4th of july. Even if your wedding isnt on the 4th of july you can still have those colors, I like the turqoise and the red makes it rustic. It's your wedding you can have as little or as less colors you want.

  • I actually think your colors will look great together! Since navy and turquoise are in the same 'family', and then red to contrast. Googling nautical weddings will probably give you lots of ideas on how to use your colors together! Navy is basically a neutral, so dont worry about it being too much. If you go a little more coral than pure red, there are TONS of ideas on pinterest :)
