April 2012 Weddings

Two bite the dust

My bridesmaid dresses finally came in yesterday!  However, unfortunately, my matron of honor most likely won't be at the wedding.  It isn't her fault; she has been waiting on her visa so that she can move to England (where her husband lives), and it still hasn't come.  So once it does, she can't leave England for 90 days.

FI is going to do the tux thing tomorrow, and his best man just called and dropped out of the wedding.  But he has been an iffy friend lately and we will probably not be talking to him much anymore...too long of a story to get into.

Luckily I am an easy going person and these things don't bother me much.  Just unfortunate that we spent extra money (I bought her dress/necklace, FI had already ordered monogrammed cufflinks).

  • sorry to hear this, but good for you for being so easy going! FI keeps telling me I should try relaxing, but it's not working out too well for me. lol one of my BMs probably wont be coming to the bach party and while i'm smiling on the outside, i'm hurt on the inside. i know she's not required to do anything but buy the dress and show up, but it still hurts, and that's just a pre wedding party! idk how i'd feel if i were in your shoes. maybe you can share your secret? lol

  • I would be stressed/upset now if both those things happened to me.  Good for you for taking it in stride!
  • I also had a BM drop out recently so I know the feeling. I already had her BM gift monogrammed, so I guess that will just be her birthday present later this year...oh well. Like you implied, what can you do about it now? No use crying over spilled milk.

  • We had a GM drop out of our wedding, and it sucks, but what do you do?  It's better to know now than the day of, you know?  I'm glad to see you have a good attitude about it.  After all, the only thing that really matters is that you end married at the end of the day (I should have listened to my own advice when I was up late last night working on crafts when I should have been sleeping!)
