does anyone know of a fire hall, community center etc that would let me have my reception there in knoxville area?? Or really anywhere that would be really inexpensive? im getting married in august and because me and my fiance are paying for our own wedding and i am still a full time student things are tight...

Try looking at Cove Lake Park, The Cove at Concord Park ($65 for the whole day) both are very beutiful.

Some of the area parks have pavillions for under 100 bucks to reserve. Also, I think if you join a church, you can use their facilities cheaper than if you were a non-member. 

You might consider renting a lovely cabin and having the wedding and reception there.
