Center for Southern Folklore

Hey ladies!

Has anyone had any appointments with the Center for Southern folklore for reception space or rehearsal dinners?

I see tons of reviews online but nothing about private rentals. I'm wondering what the going rate is and how they compare to other venues.

  • Merri,
I contacted them when I was looking for venues. I believe the asking price is 1000 just for the room. It seemed like a small space to me so if you have more than 100 guests I would not recommend.
  • Does anyone know anyone who has been married there? I would like to see some reception pictures!

<div>I fell in love with the Center for Southern Folklore and it was the first venue I visited.  I liked the location and fun vibe of the space, but there is a lack of professionalism and organization.  I was told I would be contacted following my visit to give me a final price for the rental and I ended up having to call them back myself.  I gave the Wedding Coordinator my contact information (e-mail address) for the price quotes and she somehow lost it. Pretty much any information I requested (cost for open bar, cost per drink, catering list, florist list) I never got.  It just seemed way too unorganized and I felt like it would end up being a lot more work and stress than comparable venues.  </div><div>
</div><div>The cost for the downstairs area (with the stage and bar) does not include anything except the rental of the space.  You have to add on one of their security guards and literally everything else you can imagine. </div><div>
</div><div>In the end, the coordinator's lack of professionalism and inability to answer even the most basic questions about the space eliminated the Center from our list of potential reception venues.  </div>
