Townsend Tennessee

We found an adorable chapel in Townsend & I was wondering if anyone knows anything about that town as I had never heard of it before? I was also wondering if anyone had any suggestions about outdoor wedding venues (preferably with a waterfront)?
Thanks for any help Laughing

Townsend is just outside Sevierville, Pigeon Forge and Galinburg. We are getting married in a teeny tiny little chapel in Sevierville. I don't know much aboout Townsend, but in Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, and Sevierville there are lots of venues to choose from. We came through Townsed last year coming home to Atlanta from Pigeon Forge. It is very pretty up there, especially in the fall. Check out Little Valley Mountain resort. I googled chapels in Pigeon Forge and Gatinburg and found lots of options. I hope this helps.

Townsend is called "the quiet side" of the Smokys. It's more quant, rustic, not a bunch of strip malls and such. It's a beautiful spot.

We're having our wedding in Townsend at the Lily Barn. It doesn't have a waterfront per se, but it does have a pond right near the gazebo and you can have photos taken by a pretty little creek that runs through the property. They can also provide catering, DJ, officiant, flowers, tablecloth rentals, et cetera, or you can bring your own in.

There's also a venue called Sampson's Hollow in the nearby town of Walland. We didn't go with it because they didn't have our desired date, but I'd highly recommend it from what we saw when we visited. The owners are incredibly nice, they have a number of different customizable packages, and the venue is phenomenally GORGEOUS with mountain views on almost every side.

Townsend is a wonderful little town; make sure you check out Apple Valley Country Stores and the Dogwood Mall as well!

I live in this area, and it is GORGEOUS. it is all mountains, it is very quiet and quaint. Gatlinburh and Pigeon Forge are close, and they have a lot to do, so you could travel there for some fun. They are about a 30 minute drive away.

Also, check out Blackberry Farms.  They have what they call "The Barn Event Center." it is stunning... my fiance and I debated about getting married there!!

Check out Sampson's Hollow it is only about 10 min from Townsend...if you want the country/rustic theme it is ADORABLE!

I also looked at the barn event center...very nice for a reception but I don't like their ceremony spots, for outdoors it is right on the busy road and there is a TON of traffic noise.
