Gift for Groom

Are you giving your groom a gift on the day of the wedding?  If so, what are giving him?  Thanks ladies!

Re: Gift for Groom

After a BIG long discussion, we decided that we are going to skip the tradition of buying gifts for one another since we'd rather spend the money on starting our lives together. Instead, we are opting to write letters to one other to be read that day...and the first of a set of letters to be written at each anniversary.

However, that being said, he "accidentally" ignored our price cap at Christmas on one another's gifts...after I searched far and wide to be within budget... so my guess is that I will be getting him something!

I don't know about him, but I'm getting him something. I'm not perfectly sure what yet because I want it to be practical, and we have to move into the house first for me to make a decision.

I gave H his gift a few months early because it was a homecoming gift, too. I tried to hold out until the wedding but I could only keep a secret for a few days. I got him a guitar he's been wanting for years.

He says my wedding gift was the braces he got me during our engagement period, haha.

We've talked about it many times! I think we are going to skip this only because we are trying to save more money for the honeymoon.

If we decide to purchase each other gifts, I'll be buying him the traditional watch. On the back, I am having it inscribed with "It's About Time . . ." with our wedding date & something sentimental (i.e. with love). I think he'll appreciate the humor since when we tell people that we're finally getting married, that is almost always the reply (it's about time). We're getting married the weekend after our 7th anniversary of our first date ;)

<div>I understand that. By the time we get married, we will have been together for 5 years and engaged for almost 3 years. Now, this isn't such a big deal in normal life, but every single one of his siblings and parents met then married their SO in 16 months.</div>

I think I'm going to book him an appointment at one of the local very Austin barbers for a nice shave the morning of the wedding. He likes getting pampered too!

Cuff links made from stadium chairs from the Yankee's Stadium that was just torn town. He went to school at West Point - so like the NY connection.
