Waxing Horror

I made a huge mistake this past Friday and decided to get my eyebrows waxed at the nail salon I usually go to. I have never really had terrible experience doing this, but this time was different...Just to make a long story short, I left with a severe burn from the bottom of one of my eyebrows all the way down to my eyelid and the same thing happend on the top of my other eyebrow. Here I am a couple of days later with what looks like could eventually turn into a scar. As you can imagine, I was beyond livid when leaving on Friday. Will you girls please recommend who you see for eyebrow and any other kind of waxing? I will never ask someone at a nail salon to do this again. It's just not worth chancing, especially with my wedding a few months away. Any recommendations you have would be greatly appreciated.

I'm so sorry to hear about your eyebrows!  I have extremely sensitive skin so I'm always wary of getting anything waxed, luckily I've had good experiences.  When I get my eyebrows waxed, my esthetician does it.  Her name is Christina and she owns Blossom Skin Care on Duval.  She's absolutely lovely, and she waxes and tints my eyebrows (I have dark blonde hair that I dye really dark brown and I like my eyebrows to match) and I've never been dissatisfied or had a bad reaction.  She also gives great facials.  I can't say anything about other forms of waxing, but she does awesome eyebrows

Instead of waxing, try having your eyebrows threaded. You'll love it!!! I live in Lubbock so I can't recommend any places in Austin. I know there are several places bc I've heard girls on the board talk about it. I'm sorry to hear about your mishap and good luck finding a new salon!!

I get threading done at Jamila's Salon on Anderson Lane. It's a little pinchy, but no burns or the possibility of injury like that! I also have had her do my upper lip.

Waxing Salon 505 and Threading at Hair It Is. Both are near/in the Arboretum.

Angie at Blush Skincare on 45th and Medical Parkway.  http://www.blushaustin.com/ She owns her one-woman shop, so you usually need to leave a message and she'll quickly return your call. Her little salon is so cute, and she is careful, professional and always strives to make sure you're comfortable. I've seen her fix bad mistakes by other waxers. Very reasonable prices, too. It should say something that I live in Washington, D.C., but try to stretch out my waxing so that I can wait until I go home and Angie can fit me in! You can see by her 5-star Yelp reviews others agree.

I LOVE Angie at Blush Skincare.  I go to her for bikini waxing.  For some reason I thought she stopped doing eyebrow waxing, but maybe I'm wrong?  If she does do it, then I'm sure she does an excellent job.

Hi! I love Tara's for Threading. They have 2 locations, 1 at Barton Creek Mall and 1 at Burnett and Anderson Lane. Oh and Angie doesn't do eyebrows anymore, but everything else she does is great!   Amy

Marianne at Edelweiss Salon is awesome!  She does all kinds of waxing, facials, and even does eyelash perming.  I think she is the best!  She really takes her time, and you can tell she knows what she's doing.  She asks a lot of questions about what you like.  She never hurts either.  The number there is 444-1000
