I'm on the hunt for my pre-wedding event outfits. In desperate need of a rehearsal/ladies luncheon dress, RD dress, and something fun for the Bachelorette party. Anyone recommend any of the local boutiques that aren't super expensive? I already plan on checking out Anthropologie, Strut and Sola.

I would suggest Scarborough near Central Market on Lamar and 35th.  At the close of the summer, they often have some great deals.  Also, they are not boutiques, but I have seen some super cute dresses at Nordstrom and Macy's.  Just a few options with a bunch dresses.

I really like Nordstom and Macy's too... but they're not boutiques. I hear SoLa has some nice stuff, but I've only been there once, and that was a long time ago.

I love the banana republic outlet at the RR outlets.  They also have a J Crew, Ralph Lauren, and BCBG.   Love the outlets!

Emerald's across from Anthro - they have a lot of the same stuff that Strut has but a lot MORE of it and it's a little more $$...but they have some cute stuff, great selection and good sales.

Strut, SoLa, Wish on Guadalupe, Francesca's, and Fabrik. Fabrik and Francesca's are at the Hill Country Galleria. Other go-tos are Banana Republic, J Crew, and Anthropology.

By George on 6th and Lamar, while far too expensive for a budget-minded bride at regular price, occasionally has amazing frocks on their sale racks, and every six months or so has a big sale.  Try also Nordstrom's Rack and Neiman Marcus's Last Call outlets (Last Call is on Loop 360 in south Austin.)

I had great luck at Nordstrom.com.  They have all sorts of sales.  They take everything back if it doesn’t fit.   To throw another place out if you are looking for cocktail type dresses try Classy Concepts.  They rent cocktail dresses.    I rented my veil from there.  I wish I knew about the place before I bought my dress.  I have rented a brides maid dress for a wedding in October from there.  Wonderful shop!  Good Luck.

Marshalls! I bought both my maxi halter rehearsal dinner dress ($30) & my Calvin Klein bachelorette party dress ($60) there!You have to have some patience to sift through all those racks, but I've always found worthwhile stuff there. And at that price, I can have lots of patience.

I'm also going to add Goodie Two Shoes on South Congress to the list.  They have a ton of shoes, and the whole back room is full of super cute dresses and tops, and it's all so cheap!  I found a peacock inspired dress there for $30, and saw practically the exact same dress at Nordstrom for $140.  Granted, the quality probably isn't the same, but for a dress you plan on wearing only a few times, it's great!

FYI: Okay, it's official... You've all made me REALLY miss Austin shopping. Shopping in Killeen is dreadful. All this talk has forced me to mark my calendar for a trip to Austin as a shopping day on Saturday!

I was just in Maya* on south Congress today, and they had a lot of really cute stuff! They're definitely worth a look!

I second Pence to Price they have a ton of cute dresses there especially if it's only for one or two occassions. Also there are a ton of boutiques up and down Congress me and the FI walk up and down religiously on Sundays and I always end up leaving with a cute dress or piece of jewelry. Good luck your day is coming up super quick!

I just want to second Francesca's...It is always kind of hit or miss for me when I go there, but I just left with three adorable dresses. Check them out!
