Venue Opinions

So I have came down to two venue choices. I'm torn between the two. I was wondering if I can get your ladies opinion on these two venues. Whether you got married at one of them or going to get married at one. What you like and didn't like. Or just any thoughts at all on them. I like the Avery Ranch out of the two. I've never seen either of them in person but just by viewing the pics I like the Avery. It looks like the Heritage Oaks is between other properties and I even saw a steel temporary building in the background. For me, I would want the whole place to look nice, including the surrounding area to really make it feel like the whole place is yours and you are in a "sucluded" special area.

They are both beautiful. The outdoor ceremony area and views of Avery Ranch are gorgeous, but I think the indoor reception area of Heritage Oaks has a better look.  To me, Avery Ranch indoor area doesn't look as "updated" for some reason.  Sorry I know that isn't much help! Just think about how your perfect wedding would fit in to each space. Consider other things such as what is included in the rental, length of rental, etc. Also, is one indoor space bigger than the other? How big is your guest list? Will one space be too crowded or too big?

FI and our good friend (hubs of one of my bridesmaids) go golfing at Avery Ranch every so often (we live nearby), and me and my BM will go meet them up for a drink afterward. Every time I just comment at how gorgeous the views are. We wanted a downtown wedding so we didn't consider it, but if we weren't set on that, we definitely would've considered it. The pictures aren't fabulous, but it's always what you make of it. #1 requirement would be seat covers. Those chairs are not pretty at all.But the ladies are right. It all depends on the size of your wedding, what you want included, what you can afford to bring in design-wise (lighting, florals, etc) and the kind of "mood" you want your wedding to have. Good luck!

When do you want to make your decision? A good friend is using Heritage Oaks for her reception in 3 weeks. I am not in it, but will be attending. I think I posted about how reasonably priced this place is.  Her dad is a photog used by several Austin knotties. If you can wait that that long. I can send you a link to pictures. That way you could see it decorated. I did not check out Avery Ranch - is there a big price difference? That might be a decision point. But you can't beat the view of the brushy creek at Avery. So pretty.

Thanks everyone. The hard part is that both places price wise comes out pretty much even. Both places i think have the same square footage or really close. I love Avery Ranch for the ceremony view and love heritage oaks for the ballroom. So i'm just stuck. I'm taking my parents and Chris to see both venue's sunday. Chris has seen heritage but not Avery yet. Both are willing to work on times very well with me. So i'm just flat out stuck. Thanks everyone again for the opinions

I live in Avery Ranch and could have even gotten a discount, but I chose another venue.  The reasons it did not work for me were:- sloping area between ceremony area and reception - I have too many people that use walkers/canes  - Avery said they would golf cart those people, but I didn't want to rely on someone to do that.- they had a lot of restrictions on decorations/favors.  They must pre-approve both.  I can understand decorations, but favors?  They said no 'food" favors too.- the Avery ballroom is completely bland like a meeting room in a hotel.  It would need a lot of work to look nice, and I didn't want the red tape of the decoration approvals.
