Dress shop question

Okay, so I posted about how much I loved a Watters dress I found, but I really want to calm doubts in my mind before ordering... by trying on more dresses (since I really only shopped for 2 hours! ha). I really like a lot of dresses my La Sposa. Does anyone know the average cost of these gowns? Also, two bridal stores in Austin carry the line... Alexia Gavela and Belina Exclusive Bridal. Any rants/raves about either? TIA!

I bought my La Sposa at Alexia Gavela. They were super easy to work with and I felt comfortable with them. La Sposa dresses can run anywhere from $1000-nearly $2000ish. There was a $400 difference between Alexia Gavela and other places that I had quote me on my dress so definately shop around on the pricing. I didn't try Belina Bridal. Since you are in Kileen/Temple, the carrier of La Sposa in Waco was super friendly and very accomidating. They don't have a huge huge selection but they carry the top dresses of the current collection.

Thanks for the quick reply! Do you mean AG had the gown for $400 less? I always forget about Waco! I'll be sure to check that store out, too. I was just considering AG first because they are having a sale that involves La Sposa gowns right now.

It was $400 cheaper than anywhere else. I think that they are having a trunk show pretty soon. That may be what is going on, not sure though.

I really loved my experience at Alexia Gavela, and almost bought a La Sposa I tried on there. :)

Thank you both a bunch! I was just having a silly freak out moment about committing to a dress (despite how much I love it)... big decisions! After a couple hours of thought and comparing pictures side by side, I'm still in love with the Watters gown. I need to just give it up already and order the damn dress! ha.

I loved my time at Alexia Gavella. I didn't get my pronovias there - but I did alterations. I love LaSposa gowns and I know they hover around $1,000 or more. (give or take, obviously). I certainly recommend going and trying some on if you're wanting to. You're not commited to a dress yet and why not know your options? Geri is fantastic and I'm sure you'll have a great time.

I know you said you thought it over - but if you change your mind and want me to see if they have a specific style & get the price for you let me know. I am going to Balina and Melange on Friday then Alexia Gavela and Belle Saison on Saturday.I am kind of in the same boat as you - I found a dress in Dallas that I will order from a shop here if I don't find anything else this weekend. But I def have to weigh all my options first - when else can I go try on wedding dresses and be uber picky! ; )

Thank you both. I am very tempted to shop more just because I loved trying on dresses, but I thought about it a bit more last night and slept on it and the Watters dress is definitely the one. I was just being hesitant because of the price. I'm not paying for it so I don't know why I'm so worried... I am incredibly grateful that my dad offered to buy it for me I just felt so guilty about making the purchase. I realized I'm not going to find anything that makes me feel the way that dress did, and knocking a few hundred off a price for a lackluster feeling just isn't worth it!

I totally agree - it's like spending all that money for a new car and not getting power windows or locks...for a few bucks more (in the grand scheme of things) get what you really want. And in the case of a wedding dress, you will have to look at those pics a lot longer than you will a car. ; ) I love the Watters dress you picked - it seems perfect for you!! If you want you can come try on dresses for me because I HATE it!! LOL!! This weekend I will either find a dress or order one I found in Dallas and I am done.

I finally ordered the dress this morning and I feel so much better. I know I made the right choice! It'll be here in December, can't wait! I'm sorry you're having such a frustrating time with the dress shopping. I hope this next time something magical comes along and turns it all around for you! :)

I just read that in your blog!! That's super exciting - congrats! And so sweet of your step-dad to do whatever you wanted to make you happy. It sounds like you got real lucky with him. I am going today & tomorrow then if I still have not found anything I will order this one in light gold: http://www.maggiesottero.com/dress.aspx?style=S5058The more I've thought about it the more I have my mind set on that one. I didn't expect I would be the girl to put on a dress and fall in love with it right there - it's way too big a decision to make the same day. I needed some stewing time!
