Looking for Photographer recommendations

I'm in the beginning stages of planning and am overwhelmed by all the photgrapher options.  Any recommendations on how to narrow them down?  Are there any that you highly recommend that are less than 4k for a complete package?

What are you looking for in your complete package? Do you want wedding day only or to include engagement pictures? What about Bridal Pictures or a 'We Did It' shoot?We booked with Christina Carroll Photography. I know her pricing has gone up some in the last few months but she still has good packages available for $3500 or so.. HTH!

I adored my photographer and result. I used Melissa Glynn with Hemera Nyx Photography. www.hemeranyx.com You can see my bio and see a handful of photos from our wedding day. We also did engagemetns with her. And you'll pay less than 4k for sure.

I am using Shawn Childress Photograpy. Shawn is a wonderful photographer and such a chill person. We have had fun with the shoots we have done so far (still a while from the actual wedding in March). His kind personality creates such a relaxed atmosphere that you can focus on what is really important- enjoying your fiance....

I am using Whitney Lee Photography. Her packages are under $3k and include either an engagement shoot or bridals, 2 shooters on wedding day, and full rights to images after the wedding. She's really friendly and we instantly clicked when we met with her the first time.

I second Melissa Glynn!  When we did our e-pics I was so nervous- I felt like I would have no idea what to do or how to do it.  Melissa made us feel so at ease and I loved loved loved the pictures!

We're working with Jake Holt (jakeholt.com) and really liked him when we met him.  We're not doing engagements or bridals, so our package is 8 hours with 2 photographers on the wedding day with tons of extras.  He'd definitely be within your budget!

Shannon Cunningham is great! I know her packages start at about $2650. Her work is really good too.

J. Mark Photography - packages start at 1,500 for a CD and two photographers... add in a leather album and it gos to 2,200 - I think - prices are on their website. I love them!

Hi!I would very HIGHLY recommend my photographer, Gordon of Red Letter Photos: http://redletterphotos.com/We just had our wedding (7/25/09) at Villa Antonia. I can't begin to tell you how amazing Gordon is. First of all, you own all your images and get a copy on disc. You aren't forced into bridal packages where you have to get a 24 x 16 of this, and 20 wallets, etc. Gordon was the absolute best vendor I hired for my wedding. Our engagement photos were beautiful, our wedding photos were beautiful, but most importantly, Gordon helped make my wedding day perfect. When I was hot, he would move me to a fan, when I was thirsty he would run and grab water, he carried a hanky for me, all of this without me asking. He really cares about people, and puts you first. I know this review sounds so planted, but I am amazingly happy with him and his work. I also recommend Bouquets of Austin for flowers, DJs Unlimited for music, and I used a little known cake maker named Robin Byrd, that created the most delicious wedding cake ever for me and my fiance (now husband). But Gordon is hand's down the best of all these vendors... your photos are the only remaining item from the wedding, and you don't want to skimp, but you want someone who will give you fairness and quality for a good price, someone who cares about the people and not the paycheck. And that gives you beautiful, lasting photos...

(1) Portrait Session: Can be engagement, bridal, day after, 2nd day, or trash the dress (1) 16x20 Portrait Print: (1) $100 Wedding Print Credit: (1) Online proofing for 90 days: Online galleries for easy guest and family ordering. (1) High Resolution Files on DVD: DVD of high resolution files is INCLUDED in all our packages. I have a friend who used Shannon Cunningham and her pictures were gorgeous!
