Favor thoughts...

I'm thinking about having Amy's Ice Cream or The Chocolate Cup come out and scoop guests ice cream during the last 30 minutes of our reception, as we do the getaway thing and as guests head out to their cars.What do y'all think of that instead of a traditional favor?

I love the idea of Amy's Ice Cream! People love edible favors.  I would think you would need more time than just 30 minutes, depending on your wedding size. If it's more than 75 I would plan for about an hour. You don't want a mad rush for the ice cream and then for everyone to be waiting in line for it for the last remaining minutes of your reception.

Ohh yeah, good point. I didn't think about the potential traffic jam when I read this... It's a cool idea, but definitely open it up with enough time for everyone to get some. Open it too late, and you force everyone who wants ice cream to leave your dance floor vacant so they can stand in line... which might dampen the fun of the last 30mins of the reception. I would say, talk to whoever you hire about how much time they would recommend to avoid the mad dash.
