Couples Shower locations?

Hey ladies,My lovely bridesmaids are organizing a couples shower for us at the end of the month, but they are running into some issues. The main problem is we are looking at a guest list of about 80 people so we need enough space for everyone. Also, most restaurants require a minimum food and beverage purchase and only let you use the private rooms for about 2 hours without having to shell out even more cash.Do you know of any parks, restaurants, community centers/pools where my bridesmaids can host something like this without having to spend an arm and a leg?

do any of them live in apartments?  i've been to a few couples showers/engagement parties hosted at the apartment 'clubhouse'.  they're big enough and usually pretty close to the pool if you/they wanted to swim too.

Try the Caswell House -- they can accommodate that many people and you can bring in any caterer you wish.  You can also bring in your own alcohol, further saving money.  Their Sunday rates are $700 for a 5-hour block of time. Another place would be for Chez Zee (party room, separate from the rest of their restaurant.)

Mangia pizza has no room charge, but they will want you to order food... I don't think there's a minimum though. I dunno their room capacity, but I think the one on Guadalupe is the biggest. I dunno what kind of atmosphere you're looking for though... Mangia is pretty casual. Also, try contacting the parks a recreation department... some city parks have picnic areas you can reserve. Looks like $60 for under 100 people... not sure if that's total or hourly... but a phone call would surely answer that question! I've had many gatherings at Pease Park (Near MoPac and Enfield). I don't think you can reserve a space, but I've never had a problem getting a large area. There is a bathroom with running water, kickball/baseball area, playground (fun for adults too). You can bring in whatever food and beverage (including alcohol), but no glass. Also, Emma Long Park is nice if you want to swim. Water, bathroom, volleyball, boat dock, etc. You can reserve an area there. Same story on food & bev. I'm having my RD at Habana on 6th. We'll have about 50 people and they didn't mention a food & bev minimum, but that may be because I told them we wanted dinner and drinks. If people will be drinking, they have an excellent bar package. We have the entire downstairs for the night.
