aisle runner outside

I hadn't put much thought into our aisle runner becuase the club said they had one- turns out they don't so know I'm researching them.  I'm starting to wonder if it's a good idea.  Our ceremony is on the tee box of a golf course so it will be short, well manicured grass.  But it's still grass- do you think the runner will just get shifted around and not look good?  ist here a certain fabric I should look for?Any opinions are appreciated!  TIA.

I would just walk on the grass if I were you, honestly. It's less of a risk to walk on the grass slowly & carefully than constantly worrying about if the aisle runner is being blown away by wind or if it's getting wrinkled... etc. I think it'll look best with just grass... as an outdoor wedding should, very natural. If it's manicured grass it won't get your dress dirty. HTH!

I agree with pp, do just grass. I would be worried about stepping on the aisle runner and it getting caught in my heel and dragging down the rest of the aisle. Not exactly the most graceful thing to have happen, but I'm sure it would happen to me. You could do a "false" runner by linning the edges of the aisle where a runner would be with flower petals or candles or buckets of flowers sitting on the ground. If you do still want to do a runner I would make sure it is a thicker fabric with a higher thread count. This should help with the sticking to the heel issue. I would also stake down the the runner in the corners and other spots along the way to help with it shifting.

Our ceremony will be outdoors, too so I have thought a bit about this.  I personally think the look of fresh grass looks nice... especially since you'll be on a golf course the grass will definitely be pretty! I agree with PP about lining the aisle with something to "define the aisle". We are planning to line our aisle with rose petals, but there are lots of really great ideas you could do to fit your decor.
