Zilker Clubhouse Questions

We are wanting to have our rehearsal dinner at Zilker Clubhouse on a Friday in April.  I know about the lottery process, and I know about having your friends send in requests for the date you want, but do any of you have more details?  Also, any tips or suggestions for having an event there?

So we were trying to use it but ended up doing House on the Hill instead.  I have done other parties there. I would check on the city's page. Lots of info.http://www.ci.austin.tx.us/parks/reservefacilities.htmJust know no AC.  Space inside is small if bad weather.  You must bring everything yourself.  It is just the building. Parking can be an issue if you have more than 25 cars.

My Aunt got married here a year or so ago. It was absolutely stunning! She did have to bring in EVERYTHING. The link below is is to my blog, I did a psot on her wedding if you'd like to see a few snaps of the place! http://stephers-thechipperchicken.blogspot.com/2009/04/wedding-with-view.html Steph

You may want to look into some outdoor lighting as well (if it will be outside at all), because it gets pretty dark out there! Good for fireworks (we always rented out for NYE), bad for anything else. Firewood for the fireplace/s would be nice if it is still cool when you do it too. The staff renting the place were always very nice and accomodating however the last year the cleanup folks were there kind of early with their kids...ate our food, had a drink. We didn't mind but you might!

we've been looking into the clubhouse as well, and i think it's a really great venue. (especially since it's so reasonably priced!!!) the indoor capacity is 150, and tables (rectangular) and chairs (metal folding) are included in the rental. there's also plenty of parking, and the views of downtown from the terrace are spectacular. there are some downsides, though. the reservation process is kind of complicated (i had to reread the policies and procedures a couple of times before i really understood the two alternatives). also, no glass whatsoever is allowed. i thought this might just mean bottles and such, but i called to ask and was told that they mean drinking glasses/barware, too.just make sure you read the 'facility information' sheet on the link in the post above. it's really informative.i was there and took some pics recently; if you'd like me to send them to you, email me at elevenwedding at gmail dot com.
