One World Theatre?

We're thinking of holding our ceremony and reception at One World Theatre.  It's a beautiful space and they do much of the planning (catering, linens, rentals, etc)  in house, which is a plus for us. (They said their average wedding costs runs $100-140 pp, in case anyone's curious.)Anyway, I don't know anyone who's been to a wedding there and the only wedding reviews I could find online had some complaints about OWT's customer service.  So Knotties, I ask you, have any of you had any experience with this venue?  I'd hate to rule them out b/c of two bad reviews online, but if they do have customer service issues, that's just something I'd prefer to avoid.  Any help/advice/suggestions would be MUCH appreciated!

I almost had my wedding and reception at One World Theatre. It's really pretty there and I absolutely LOVED Valerie (the event specialist there). She was very accomidating and patient with my millions of questions. We got pretty far along with them and got a detailed proposal. It was less than 100 dollars a person, but we had the date set for a Sunday wedding which may be why. So, if the place is right for you I would say go for it! Valerie is awesome and great to work with. We ended up choosing Laguna Gloria instead, even though it will actually be a little more expensive when all is said and done -- we preferred the scenery and atmosphere at Laguna over One World. Hope this helps!

We almost had our wedding at OWT as well....until we got the detailed proposal.  We'd looked at their sample menues, and the food costs were anywhere between $20-$36 per person.  We felt confident that when we asked for a fajita dinner, which we expected would be on the low end, but when we got the proposal she quoted us $55 a head!!!  For fajitas!  That did not include the rentals (linens, place settings, or the bar.  The fancy seafood sample menues weren't that high!  We ended up going with Allan House where we could have outside caterers...will be much cheaper than $55 a head, with rentals and bar.

Knottie Erin&Andy just had a ceremony there not too long ago - I think she was really happy with the venue and the customer service there. My friend had her wedding and reception there but it was over 5 years ago - I can say it was beautiful and they had a great experience with the staff, but I don't think the staff would be the same after 5 years. Ya never know though!

I'm having my wedding at One World Theatre in February and so far Valerie has been wonderful to work with. I'm planning the wedding from out of state so it was important to me to find a venue that had a lot included in the price. It definitely makes planning a lot less stressful.I saw the negative reviews too but so far that hasn't been my experience at all. Valerie answered all my e-mails and wrote my contract while on vacation even though I told her she could wait til she got back. She's very accessible at all times and you can tell she really knows what she's doing.I think the venue is BEAUTIFUL and I like that not many people I know have gotten married there so it's something different. I haven't been to my food tasting yet so I'll let you know how that goes.Best of Luck! Let me know if you have any more questions!

I'm thinking of using One World Theatre too, but don't have a lot of confidence in the customer service.  Has anyone had their wedding there in the past year or so that I can talk to?  I'm worried about hidden costs compared to the proposal I was given.  My email is LChandler@gmail.com if anyone has info for me! Thanks!
