Wedding in 35 days - need to find hair/makeup specialists!

Hi all!Getting married Dec. 12 and my search for reasonably priced (yet still GOOD) hair & makeup artists has turned up very little. I am seeing Web sites for stylists who obviously do a very good job but do it for $85-$150 (hair) and sometimes between $50-$75 for makeup. I could probably put that kind of money out just for my hair/makeup, but there's no way I could help my bridesmaids with the cost of theirs if it's that high. (I really want to help my girls pay for at least some of the cost.)So, I made an appt to go tmrw to the Paul Mitchell Academy in Pflugerville since their prices are low low low. I'm going to feel it out, but have read some things about their spotty performance record and don't want the chance for any mishaps on the day of my wedding. So, I'm looking for some suggestions from you guys since I've gotten some really good advice from other brides-to-be on this forum before. If anyone knows some good people for decent prices (especially if they'll do those services on location instead of my bridal party trudging to a salon the day-of), please let me know!Many thanks...hope everyone's planning is going well!Angie

I used Alex at Edelweiss Salon and she did a great job with my hair and for 2 of my bridesmaids. We went into the salon, but I know she goes on site for a a bit higher price. Give her a call-- she's done good work for a lot of us on the board.

I was still new to Austin and really worried about my wedding day.  I suggest you run, not walk, to see Zina at A Beautiful You.  Her number is 512-292-9001.I have impossible hair (both thin and fine) and skin (allergic to most products), and most of all needed someone who would listen to the fact that I wanted to look like ME on my wedding day.  I was getting married at a remote location, and needed everything to be done there.  She handled it all, no problem.I can't say enough about what wonderful work Zina does, except that she's an equally wonderful, calming, perfect person to make your day that much more incredible and FUN instead of stressed.  Call her!

I HIGHLY recommend Alex from Edelweiss for hair and Katie Astoria @ Modern Muse for makeup.  Both came to the house my bridesmaids and mom were renting in town (I don't live in Austin).  They were AMAZING.  My two maids, my mom, and I looked fabulous.  Alex was very affordable...no one needed an updo and she didn't charge us for "updo" wedding hair.  Katie is WORTH.EVERY.PENNY!  She charges a bit more for the bride, but she's worth it.  She brought her mom and they each spent more than an hour on each of us. I used Tracy McCaskill who came to my house in Pflugerville and I paid $100 for hair and makeup total for me and $75 for both for bridesmaids.  She did an awesome job.  tracymakeup@gmail.com
