Bridal Salon in Austin...Help

My best friend and Maid of Honor is coming to visit at the end of May and we have one short weekend to try on dresses.  For her as my maid, and this will be my first time trying on a wedding dress.  I need some info on the salons around austin, which ones to go to and to stay away from.  Thanks!

i can't say enough wonderful things about alexa gavela. i didn't buy my dress there but i kind of wish i had. they have beautiful gowns. they did my bustle for me and are storing my dress and press it for free if you mention you were referred from the knot. but they are just the nicest people! very accommodating and definitely have blown me away.

For bridesmaids dresses, I loved The Bridesmaid Store. They had such a great variety of designers, price ranges, and styles of dresses. When we were looking for bridesmaid dresses, we set aside the entire day to look for dresses at The Bridesmaid Store, Alfred Angelo, and David's Bridal. We went to The Bridesmaid Store first and my bridesmaids fell in love with a really cute Mori Lee dress (which was really funny because I thought they each wanted different dresses). For good measure, we decided to check out the dresses at Alfred Angelo and David's Bridal. In terms of value, quality, and style, nothing compared to the dress we found at The Bridesmaid Store. We also called around to other boutiques to find out pricing for that specific dress and The Bridesmaid Store was the cheapest (except for Pearl's Place in New Orleans). Overall, we had a great experience there and I would definitely recommend checking them out.

I bought my dress at Signature Bridal in Bee Caves.  I really liked them and we are actually going to try on bridesmaide dresses there this weekend.  I haven't run into a problem.  They are very attentive and answer questions quickly and you can always get someone on the phone if there is an issue.  I also looked at Melange, I wasn't impressed with the selection which is sad because my sister bought her dress there four years ago and they used to have an awesome selection.

I bought my dress from Alfred Angelo, they are nice but a typical chain store. And we are getting our bridemaid dresses from Customary Couture in Cedar Park. They have a huge selectoin of bridemaid but I heard they dont have much in the bridal.

I got my gown at Alexia Gavela, and I wouldn't recommend anywhere else.

I know a few girls that have gone to Unbridaled and Blush to get their gowns.

I bought mine at Signature Bridal as well, and I've had a really positive experience.  They didn't try to pressure me at all either.

I got my dress at Serendipity Bridal. I also know girls that got theirs at Blush and Unbridled, and both loved their dresses!

I am looking at Unbridaled, for sure.  The girls there have been great so far!

I REFUSE to spend my money in Serendipity because of the way they have treated some of my staff members and most recently, my best friend, when she went in there just to look around and see what lines they carried.  This has caused me to search in Houston for my bridesmaid dress and/or completely change the dress because I am THAT opposed to spending my money in that store.

I got my dress at Unbridaled and my experience was just fine.  They don't fawn over you like other places do, but that's just their style, more laid back.

Serendipity was the first place I looked, and my experience there was just fine, but I also had a co-worker who had a bad experience.  They are very hands on, and insist on helping you into each dress, and that can make some people uncomfortable.

I got my dress at Belle Saison, and I love them!  They're great to work with and really helpful in figuring out what you want.  Earlier today my mom was saying that if/when my little sisters get married, she's going to make them buy their wedding dresses there because our experience with Belle Saison has been so good!  :)

I also looked for bridesmaids dresses at Unbridaled, and although we ended up buying them from David's (much cheaper!), Unbridaled provided a good experience and had a good selection of more unconventional/vintage gowns.

I got my dress at Signature Bridal, and I found that they had a lot of dresses in the $1000 price range, unlike some of the other stores (I'm thinking of Unbridaled and Melange, both of which were much too expensive for me). The women working there were really nice and they had a whole side of the store devoted to bridesmaid dresses. I had a great experience there.

I really liked Blush too, it was smaller and more funky than Signature Bridal. The dresses tended to be more expensive but there was a nice selection. The house it's located in is very cute and they had some pretty bridesmaid dresses too. The owner was also very nice and welcoming. Alexia Gavela is located right near there, and I did like their dress selection, but I didn't see any bridesmaids dresses, for what it's worth.

Good luck, and take lots of pictures so you can remember the dresses later!
