Mexican Resturants in Bryan/College Station?

I'm the MOH for my sis and am trying to plan a bachalorette party in Bryan/College station but since I am not from there I don't know any good places to eat! We want mexican food on par with like Pappasitios, preferably fairly cheap. Thanks for any reccomendations you can give!

I really like Abuelo's, it's on University. The atmosphere is great!

La Bodega is really good...it's not exactly Mexican...more like Baja, but the food is really good. They have really good shaker drinks and if you go before 7 they're half off so they're only $6.50 - might sound like a lot but it's a huuge drink...i can barely drink 1. It's not the cheapest place but the food is really good. It's behind northgate off of University & Wellborn.

If you do want just cheap regular mexican food I would recommend Mi Cocina. There's a couple of them in College Station, one on George Bush next to Lupots and one on Southwest parkway & dartmouth. There used to be 1 or 2 more but I'm not sure if they're in the same locations or if they've moved.

If your looking for some serious margaritas to kick things off try Los Lomas or Ninfas. Lomas margaritas got me through college.  I love La Bodega, but I've had terrible service the last few times we went there.  La Bodega does have great shakers though.

I agree with the PPs. La Bodega has a great atmosphere & you can't beat the shakers. Plus its close to Northgate.

Abuelo's has better food though. Maybe start out at Abuelo's & move over to La Bodega as the night moves on.

I think it really just depends on what type of Mexican food you are looking for. I've never been impressed with Abuelos - I've been there several times. The food isn't exactly traditional Mexican, but neither is La Bodega. Ninfas might be a happy medium...I completely forgot that they put one of those there. Good margaritas & good food!!

Watch out though: those suckers at Ninfas are made with everclear.  Take it easy!

I guess I shoulda qualified, the bride doesn't drink and most of the girls who will be there don't either. So where is the best FOOD? I think Abuelo's looks good but how exspensive is it?
