Band for RD w/"Texas" flavor & low price?

I am assisting my FMIL with planning our rehearsal dinner in Austin (probably will be at Shoreline, Stubbs or the Palm Door.) Our one hitch is finding a band to play at the RD; she wants a "local" Austin band or group who can play classic Texas country/rock and folk... for 2-3 hours for a reasonable price ($500-$1,000). You would think in a town overrun by starving musicians this would be easy, but I've looked at some of the talent agencies (which only seem to represent the bigger-name bands/artists) and at bands suggested on the board previously, and most quote prices out of her budget. Any suggestions beyond going to Craigslist, UT Austin or Austin Chronicle next? Many thanks in advance!

I looked in to Curtis Grimes when I was considering bands for our wedding. His band plays Texas country, "Nashville country" and some originals. Curtis is a younger guy, goes to Texas State I think? Dave@415e.com was his manager's email address.

If you were willing to do Blues, the Blues Specialist are within your budget. They play every Friday at the Continental Club if you want to check them out.
