Reception Venues Near 620?

We are looking for an inexpensive reception venue that would be near St. Thomas More Catholic Church on 620 in North Austin.  I'd like for it to hold 150 people, have an outside area, limit driving from the ceremony, and allow outside caterers.  Any ideas?

the only ones that i saw were closest to there were la villa vista (http://www.lavillavista.com/) or angel springs events center (http://www.angelspringsevents.com/). though i don't think either allow outside caterers. good luck!

I checked Angel Springs - they allow outside catering. You have to define inexpensive. Angel Springs, Kindred Oaks, Chateau on the Creek, Casa Blanca - are about 3K min. Many community centers and cities have facilities you can rent for about 1K. I know the Bushy Creek Community center right off 620 charges around 1,200 for non member rental of pavillion, gardens and meeting rooms that open up.

Star Hill Ranch is near 620 and 71 off Hamilton Pool Road. Not sure if that is the area you are interested in but they also allow outside catering. The price for rentail depends on the time of year, day of week, and the amount of time you want to rent the space. They offer full day or half day rentals. It's a very Rustic, Small Town Texas kind of venue.

    Good Luck!

Hi - we had the same issues as my daughter is also begin married at St Thomas More.  IWe are holding our reception at The Renaissance Hotel, while it doesn't fit your requirements, they have beautiful facilities and their service is exceptional. And the location is perfect for our out of town guests.

If you are really looking to keep your costs way down...why don't you consider having your reception in the PAC at the Church.  You could bring in some nice decor, i.e., draping, chivari chairs, special lighting.  And bring in your catering and alchol vendors.

    Good luck.

DAA, what sort of price range per person did you find at the Renaissance? I love the arboretum area!

JM - between $39 - $69 for dinner...reasonable for Austin.   Ours will be around $44. We're having it in their new ballroom, It's spacious...5,000 square feet!  It is a great location for our out of town guests.
