I was going to post the same question today! I got quotes from Alexia Gavela, Triana's, and Nelda's. I really want to hear about everyone's experiences before I decide which one to go with.

I hear a lot of people recommend Alexia Gavela, even if they didn't get their dress there. I got my dress there so they will be doing the alterations. I can tell you that the people are really nice!

I used Triana Tailors and loved them.  She made sure the dress was absolutely perfect.  If one small part wasn't laying absolutely perfectly, she'd fix it.  She also did all the steaming of the dress, and even spot-cleaned it after it got a little dirty during my bridal portraits.  Highly recommend.  And, I think if you start your alterations about a month before you need them to be finished (either for your wedding day or bridal portriats), that should be plenty of time.

I'm having my alterations done at Alexia Gavela and they are awesome.  I did not purchase my dress there but the price of the alterations was very reasonable.  They tightened up the bodice, hemmed the bottom and added a bustle.   I think I paid around $160.

i chose alexa gavela based on the knot reviews and i can't say enough wonderful things about them. they are amazingly nice, the alterations were quick and cheap (my french bustle cost $50 bucks) and they even stored and steamed my dress AND petticoat AND veil for me for free since i said i was referred from the knot. i wish i had shopped there for a dress!
