Ring Bearer and Flower Girl...Garters

Hey ladies,
My wedding is in 33 days!  So close and getting so excited :)

A couple random questions -

Do the ring bearer and flower girl need to hold something (pillow, etc)?  I was going to have my ring bearer (age 5) hold flower girl's hand (age almost 2) and flower girl hold a tiny bouquet.  Do you think the ring bearer should hold a pillow?  Is it necessary?

Also, how many garters are y'all wearing?  One to toss and one to wear or just one to toss?  Just remembered I might need one :)

Thanks!

He doesn't have to hold anything, but he may want to hold a pillow with fake rings on it.

About the garters, aren't you supposed to toss the one you are wearing? I wouldn't be wearing one if it wasn't getting tossed.

Our family has no little boys, so we aren't even having a ring bearer. Although, if we were, I think we would go with a pillow with fake rings tied to it.

As far as garters go, if you're going to toss one, then wear that one. If you want one as a keepsake, I don't know that I'd wear it. Personally wearing one period seems uncomfortable to me . . .

It all comes down to your preference/style. It's your wedding so do what you and your fiance want to!

Congrats on the 33 day mark! I'd being going crazy if that were me!

I'm not having a ring bearer, but I think the pillows they make for the rings are so pretty.  Etsy.com and Hobby Lobby have some cute options.

You could also make something that conforms to your wedding style ... I think I saw in The Knot magazine recently someone put white sand in a glass box and tied the rings to a pretty conch shell with ribbon for a beach ceremony.

I don't think they HAVE to hold something, though.  Congrats on your approaching wedding!  I think you must be getting married the day before me : )

My ring bearers (we have 2) are carrying pillows with fake rings. My flower girls (we have 2) are carrying little buckets of rose petals. They are all 2-4 years old so who knows what they will actually do, but they'll look cute doing it!

As for garters, I always thought you wore two- one to toss and one to keep. I'm not doing one at all though so I could be wrong, this is just what I noticed when I was looking at them. (They are usually sold in sets.)

Thanks guys!  I think we are going to have our ring bearer hold the flower girl's hand (well we will try, he is 5 and she is almost 2!) and she has a tiny bouquet to hold.  And I bought 1 garter on etsy so we'll see!
