florist issues... need recommendations!

We booked our florist back in August, but I realized last week that I cannot trust her. Her shop has called me twice asking if I have booked my florist yet and if I wanted to have a consult with them. They florist refuses to sign a contract (she insists that an emailed quote suffices) and she didn't send me a receipt of our deposit until I asked for it.

Anyways, long story not so short, I am frantic to find another florist before our wedding. I have been calling around, but I can't find anyone available. We are looking for someone with good prices, and that won't screw me over (like I'm afraid my current one will). We can get our deposit back, but I'm scared to cancel her until I can find another one. Anyone have any recommendations??? TIA!

I used Donna Foster with Central Market Floral Dept. (main Lamar location).

Her quotes were awesome -- she saved me $600 - 900 over quotes I had received from other florists.  She gave me more flower arrangements than what the others had quoted me on.  The quality of the flowers was great as well as the service.

Have you checked with Rebekah Fountain - the Glass fountain? Brides rave about her on this site and that her prices are great. It is one thing that I have not decided on yet, so glad to see the recommendations here. I will not be working on the flowers piece until I come back to visit in the summer.

I thought I would DIY the flowers and realized 3 wks before my wedding that I was pretty much crazy to try to do flowers the morning of my wedding.  I called Rebekah at the Glass Fountain and did a consultation over the phone.  Her price was literally hundreds of dollars less than anything else and she did an incredible job the day of the wedding.  She went above and beyond what I expected.

The name is WOW Factor Design out in Wimberly. They are the recommended florist for our venue (Texas Old Town in Kyle), and I really enjoyed our consult with her. I've seen her work and I liked it. I wish things would have worked out better. :-(

I'm going to call Rebekah and see how that works out. Thanks for the advice, knotties!

I didn't end up using her, but i was going to recommend Donna with Central Mkt too.  She had great budget-friendly ideas when we met with her.

Another vote for Petal Pushers! The flowers at my wedding were amazing... exactly what I wanted. You can even ask my husband... I kept saying over and over, "I love my bouquet!"
