Cakes

I have set up tastings for:

Hill Country Cupcakes
Michelle's Patisserie
Krissy's Kakes
Cakes by Lori
Stardust Bakery

Anyone particularly yummy that I am missing.  Taste is much more important to me that appearance.  TIA.

If you're open to doing something other than traditional wedding cake, you might check out Nothing Bundt Cakes in Cedar Park.  They had the best tasting & most moist cake (to me & my family) when we went to the bridal extravaganza in January 2010.

We booked Michelles Patisserie. My mother, Fiance and I loved her the best hands down. If you are looking for yummy gluten free cake or carrot cake Blue Note Bakery is fantastic for those two things.

I'm also using Cakes by Rosemary... If you have a design that requires fondant, you HAVE to check her out.  She uses Satin Ice, and it's SOOOO yummy!

She's super nice and does amazing work too!

Our venue raves about Simon Lee Bakery, we've set up a tasting with them next week, but they aren't very good with calling back or e-mails.

We went with Simon Le Bakery whose cake was yummy and beautiful.

If you go to the various bridal shows, you always can visit the vendor booths and sample cakes there.  We booked Simon Le at a bridal show because DH and I both loved the Simon Le cake the moment we tasted it.  Plus we received a show discount by booking there -- either 10 or 15% off the cake cost.

Thanks everyone.  I'm planning from out of town so bridal shows are a little hard for me.  I've tried to get in contact with Simon Lee but they won't seem to call me back.  Guess I will see if they call me before my next trip to Austin.  Thanks again.
