My bother got married last year (Sept) in Austin. Well after 70 plus days over 100, When the tempature dropped into the 90's it felt cool. They wouldn't even look at a venue that didn't have reception location with full AC. It was needed. I think it cools in October.

very hot! october does definitely start to cool down, but there are still some muggy days thrown in there.

I am a Sept. baby and can't recall anything but warm days in Septemeber!  I went to a Sept. wedding two years ago and they did the ceremony early evening and the reception at night and it wasn't too bad!  There was a breeze that day which helped and the indirectness of the sun was a huge plus!

If you go to the www.weather.com - home and familiy - wedding planning.  They have a ton of information - including the avg temp for each month/date for the past 3 years (click on the month when you get to the graph, it will show you all the dates in that month).
Just a warning, it is brutally honest, we kept telling ourselves it wouldn't be that hot YET (June 12).  Nope!  It's going to be HOT!!!   That said everyone keeps telling us it's an "el nino year" and it probably "won't be that bad"...  I have no idea if that really means anything, but I'm going with it!!!  Good luck!
