You should definitely visit The Salt Lick for BBQ, it is in Driftwood, TX just outside of Austin. They have some of the best BBQ that you can get at a restaurant. Depending on when you come, you should visit the south Congress bridge to see the bats take flight. It's quite a sight to see. If you're looking for a place to go out at night, you can always visit 6th street which is pretty much the college crowd or the warehouse district (4th/5th st) which is a more 'grown-up' atmosphere. For a few laughs you could visit Ester's Follies on 6th street. It's a hilarious show.

In San Antonio, visit the river walk and eat at Budros (sp?). They make guacamole table side and its delicious! For good Italian visit Piasanos (sp?), also on the river walk.

There's just so much to do in both cities. Hope this helps!

I agree with the above suggestions.  I would also recommend The Oasis on Lake Travis.  Food is decent, but the view is spectacular.  Hula Hut, on Lake Austin, delicious food, decent view.  :-)

I agree about Salt Lick! My fiance and I love it so much that we are using them to cater our wedding! I refused to use anyone else, their food is sooooo good! Not like any other BBQ I've ever tasted! :)

There are tons of bed and breakfast places tucked away in parts of the city; if you havent already booked a hotel I would definitely check into something like that!

The bats are awesome, definitely worth an evening of observing. A lot of restaurants offer a great view and signature "bat cocktails".

If you're going downtown I would reccommend Qua on 4th Street. It's a really neat little club and the dance floor is a shark tank. So you can dance and watch the sharks swim below you. I usually take my out of town friends there and we have a pretty good time.

    Have fun on your honeymoon!
