I am clueless on how much lighting cost for a typical wedding. Can anyone give me some insight?

it depends on what you want. i got a quote for about $550 for uplighting (12 uplights) and a custom lit monogram. that included set up and take down.

tatnmhb-it was from D&H Stage Lighting. they have some standard packages, but i told them i just wanted 12 uplights and a monogram!
