Random ques about ettiquete

Hi ladies,

For those of you who have received a notice that a gift on backorder has been purchased by a guest, how do you handle that?  Do you send a thank you once the gift has arrived or when you get that notice?  Just curious.

Thanks,
SB

I think it would all depend on how long it's on backorder.  If it's going to be a month before you get it, I would think they would want to know that you know that they sent something... right?  Maybe a phone call?  I just know that if I sent a gift and didn't hear back from them for quite a while (while other people I know are getting thank you cards) I would probably start wondering if the gift ever reached you.  But then again... they probably receievd notice that it was on backorder as well... hmm... that's a toughy.

I think I would call them and tell them you got the notice and that you're super thankful for it and will let them know when you do get it so they don't have to worry.  But then send a written note later once you receive it.

Thanks for the feedback, ladies.  Much appreciated. ; )  And great idea on the phone call.  My wedding is actually this Saturday, so I will have the chance to thank people in person.
