Reviews of AMOA-Laguna Gloria?

Hi Ladies,

You don't know me - I'm on the Bump.  Thanks for reading.

Does anyone have reviews of this as a location?  What about vendor reviews?  I'm asking for a friend.

Happy planning to all!!

TIA

It's absolutly georgous! We checked it out as an option. The only thing was the staff was really unhelpful and not at all interested in explaining anything to me when we went by to check it out. Like they don't really like the wedding part of AMOA? They're very picky with lots of rules and fines. Also, the house isn't big enough for a rain plan, so tenting would be your only option. SO SO SO pretty though! If it weren't for those things, I would have booked by looks alone.

We are having our wedding there in early June.

I have nothing but good things to say! I have read other reports of potential brides saything they found the staff to be snotty and unhelpful, but honestly I didn't experience this in the slightest. Judy, the elderly lady that sits at the front desk was kind and explained to me all the different areas people get married. She told me that Erin (the event coordinator) would be willing to talk to me and let me know where her office was.

They have been nothing but helpful and we were even able to talk them down on the rental price (something I thought would never happen!)

I will let you know more after we get married!

Hi!  I've been lurking on these boards for over a year, and now that I'm within weeks of my wedding I hope I've planned enough to provide a helpful response.

I'm having my wedding at Laguna in a few weeks, and so far our experience has been good.  I set up a meeting with the Facilities Rental coordinator before visiting the grounds, so I think they were ready for questions and that might be why I got better treatment?

One thing to keep in mind is that Laguna provides NOTHING but the grounds -- no chairs, no tables, no sound system, nada.  That means that you have to provide all those things yourself which becomes quite costly.  Additionally, having to coordinate all of those details can be difficult for most brides.  I was told that more than 80% of Laguna brides use a wedding coordinator.  Maybe I'm remembering that stat wrong, but I definitely remember it was more than 50%.  I am using a coordinator, and I'm positive that I could not have planned this without her.

    Hope this helps!
