Groom's Cake

I'm looking at doing something kinda fun as a surprise for the groom's cake. (He doesn't think we're doing any cake, but he'll love it when he sees it!) It's smallish but also 3D.  Who did y'all use for your grooms cake?  I'm on a budget, but need someone who can do something a little more creative.  Thanks!!!

We are getting the grooom's cake from the same place as "my" cake- classic cakes by lori. In her shop, she has lots of decorated fake cakes (for shows and such). I really loved the energy of that store. I don't know how big you want it, but my FI's was for around 75 people and was under $300.

We are also getting our groom cake by the same person who is making my cake who is Matty Cakes. His cakes are delish and he caught our drift right away on what we were picturing for the groom's cake. We are doing an ice chest with a six pack of Shiner, FI's fav beer. Both our cakes came in around $650 for 100 people.

I emailed Classic Cakes, and I'll for sure get ahold of Matty Cakes. (I've been looking at their website.)  I originally really wanted to do the ice chest thing, but my FI came across a picture of an armadillo on it's back holding a Lone Star beer and loved it. Something to shock my Southern Baptist relatives. Haha!

What did Classic Cakes quote you? Just curious...
