HELP!! Bridal Portraits...

Hey ladies!
I'm having my bridal portraits taken in Austin because that's where I found our photographer. The problem is that I'm not from there, so I have no idea where to take my portraits. I'm wanting them to be pretty traditional...some in a beautiful church and then of course some fun ones too. I need advice on pretty churches in the area and maybe some golf courses that would be open to letting us shoot there. Any ideas would help. My portraits are on the 29th of December so the sooner the better. Thanks!!

I did some pictures on the greens at Berry Creek in Georgetown.  Since it's residential throughout it's pretty easy to find some spots without being in the way. Not sure about churches though.

NW Hils United Methodist is a beautiful church on the inside. Also, St Mary's Cathedral, downtown, was renovated a few years ago, and its gorgeous. I don't know how they would feel about just being a setting for pictures, but even on the steps outside would be nice.

We had our E-Pics done at Concordia University, where I work. We don't have a chapel yet, but the grounds are awesome. Here is the link to our semi-pro pics:
Go to connectthreephotography.com, Click Come on in!
Hover over the dark brown box to the right of Info, it will say Proof, click on that.
The password to the photo gallery is SR2010.

There are lots of green spaces, trees, and awesome views, but also the buildings are all concrete block, so you can do some more industrial looking pics if you wanted to,

ANother good place to check out is Mayfield Park, near the west end of 35th st. They have fountains and peacocks. Lots of people have portraits done there, but they do charge a fee. YOu can find out the info on the City of Austin Parks site.

Honestly, I would really ask your photographer for suggestions. They probably have spots that they are familiar with, and that's always a plus because they won't have to waste time pecking around and trying to find decent angles, etc.

I second the pp who recommended St Mary's, but I don't know many Catholic churches that are OK with being used just as a background for pictures. Whichever church you go with I would HIGHLY reccommend that you contact them first and ask what their policies are when it comes to pictures.

    Good luck!

Riverbend Church off 360 is really beautiful and they have some awesome grounds to take photos on as well that are very golf course-esque since they are maintaned so well. I'm not sure of their policies, but it is worth checking into. You could also check into Chapel Dulcenea - not a church but still pretty fun yet semi-traditional. Good luck!

Chapel Dulcinea is a really good option... it's a beautiful outdoor chapel. I was originally going to have my ceremony there, but the guest list got too big.

And FYI, Mayfield Park doesn't charge unless you want to shoot in the house. If you just want to use the grounds and outside of the house, it's free. Just make sure no one has reserved it for the time you're going. It's right next to Laguna Gloria, which does charge ($75, I believe) and is gorgeous... a lot of people use them for their bridal portraits.
