Texas-Austin

I might need a DJ - Can't get hold of mine!!!

I have been trying to get in touch with my DJ for two weeks now and they have not gotten back to me. Have any of you used Gobo Entertainment in Austin? If you have were you happy with them.

Do any of you have any other DJ names that I can contact only 6 weeks away from the wedding if this falls through??? OMG I am freaking out right now.

Sorry to hear that.  I am using Greenbelt http://www.greenbeltdj.com/Home_Page.html

So far communication has been great and the price was very reasonable I though.

    Hope this might help.

I met with Blake from 1st Class ENtertainment (1stclassaustindj.com) and he was awesome. He is the usual DJ at Casa Blanca on Brushy Creek, but not everyone uses him so he may have some openings. He comes highly recommended and I think that the fact that he does so many weddings at the same place that he is pretty good.

I am using Tim at Austin Party Machine. He did my sister's wedding last year and did a great job.

We are using Altared Weddings. They have 4 different Dj's, so they probably have your date open. I think it is around 795 for them...

He skypes-- which makes it easier than going in person to meet with them. We are using Ryan-- the owner.

I second BabyBlue - we are using Altared for for our DJ, and they seem to have at least 3-4 guys on staff and lot of other DJ "friends."  They might be able to refer you to someone. Ryan, the owner, is super responsive over email.

Thanks ladies! I am hoping to finally talk to a real person today. I wrote a pretty nasty email to their president and FINALLY got someone to write back. He said he would call this weekend and did not call yet! I did get the phone number of the actual DJ we are using though now, so I am going to be making a call.

Gosh I can't believe how ridiculous they have been to get in touch with. I will let you all know if things continue to unravel.

Oh my! I would be freaking out too. We are using "Airwave" Dave. He is super nice, very personable, and has a huge personality. Just what we need to draw our rather shy crowd out of their seats, hopefully. My Mom met with him for me to execute the contract & she actually remembers when he was a DJ on KLBJ many years ago.

I requested a quote from GOBO and Betty was super resposive as far as getting me a quote/contract, but when I asked questions, she was kinda slow responding and didn't really do much to "sell" us on using them. It was kinda like 'okay, here's your quote, sign & return'. That is one of the reasons we didn't use them . . .

If you are still looking for someone, we are using Barnstormers: http://www.barnstormersmusic.com/

They did my friends wedding and they were great. Really paid attention to what the bride and groom wanted and didn't want.

Very interesting! I am in the same boat as you. I was talking to a DJ, said he would email me the contract on Tuesday, and I've since emailed and called but haven't gotten a response. Our wedding is also coming up! Thanks for all the recommendations!

I'm using Joel at Greenbelt DJ and so far, so good.  If you don't mind losing the deposit on this other DJ (which is likely a small amount), then I would really consider dropping them, whether or not they call you back tomorrow.  They are clearly having issues and you don't need the stress...you need someone you can count on for something so important to the success of your wedding.  I wish you the best of luck!
