need cake reccomendations

We are geting married 3/24/12 and I just realized I completely forgot to find a cake person! Any reccomendations? and how much do wedding cakes generally cost?? TIA.

They can greatly vary in price depending on flavor/ kind, baker you use and how intricate the outside/ look of the cake is. Some places charge a hefty delivery fee also.

Our wedding cake and grooms cake were around $450 together. They served about 70 people. We wanted specific designs on both of them and they did a great job. What made ours cost so much were the flavors we picked. http://www.michellespatisserie.com/

Many places I checked out started at $4 to $5 per serving. That's with absolutely no decoration or embellishments. I'm sure I could have shopped around a bit, but we ended up going with cupcakes anyway. We had a cocktail reception, and it just fit the style of our event better than cake on a plate with a fork. (plus there was no cake-cutting fee!)

Michelle's Patisserie charged us about $2.50 each for 125 cupcakes, plus a small delivery/set-up fee. We had three different flavors, and they were fabulous! 

I highly recommend Michelle's!
