La Bare closed?

So I am tasked with planning my bachelorette since all my bridesmaids are from out of town. I thought it would be fun to go to a male strip club, but when I called the number, the voicemail says they are closed and now only have strippergrams.

Does anyone know anything about this and what are some other options for fun things to do for a bachelorette party in Austin?

I can't remember why it closed but it is unfortunate. For a liberal city all we have are gentlemen clubs. We did a spa day, went out to eat then did Painting With A Twist. You could go see the bats at the Congress bridge, go to a bar/ club, anything that sounds like fun would work.

I helped plan my friend's bachelorette party a few years ago. We rented a room at the Hilton downtown and started with a lingerie shower. Then we had a rented limo take us around town to the best margarita places - we went to Polvos, Vivo, El Arroyo, and I can't remember where else. Anyway, we ended up bar hopping downtown for the last few hours of the night. It was a lot of fun!

I've also heard of people renting a bus to take them out to a winery for the day. I think that sounds like a lot of fun too!

ETA: My mom's friends surprised her with a trip to La Bare for her bachelorette party 30+ years ago. I guess I won't be able to follow in her steps, although something tells me she won't be disappointed.

I hosted a bachelorette party back in June for a Bride and we got her a Strip-a-gram. It was not worth it. They told me to go on facebook and pick out the guy I wanted to come. In his picture he was buff and super cute. When he showed up he was scrawny and reeked of smoke. It ended up being more uncomfortable than anything. I was really disappointed that the club closed down. I feel like maybe it would have been a lot more fun if we had been in the club enviroment instead of just standing around watching one stripper dance through a room.
