Florist Frustraition

Hey Ladies!

Happy New Year. I am having a bit of an Issue with getting a florist to call me back! I have emailed back and forth with Petal Pushers like 10 times, she says she forgot to do a write up and then never gets back to me. Visual Lyrics, the lady was drunk at our meeting and I left. Then Glass Fountain I have not heard back from after my last two emails asking about the quote she gave me. The only one on top of things is Bouquets of Austin and of course she was the most expensive. What should I do? Is it the holidays that are making them like this?

Thanks!

It could be the holidays.  Have you thought about using Donna at Central Market on 38th?  She was the cheapest one I contacted and everyone loved my flowers.  Good luck.  You have plenty of time I planned my entire wedding in three months for a 300 person wedding.

She was drunk?!? Are you kidding me?

It sounds like it could be the holidays. I just met with Rebekah with the Glass fountain I would give her another try. She is truly awesome, I am getting a whole bunch of flowers for an amazing price. Good luck. :)

It's a definitely possibility that it's the holidays. Also, vendors get TONS of emails and perhaps yours simply got lost in the mix (and, out of sight = out of mind), so definitely stay on top of them if you're really interested.

I had problems with the Glass Fountain as well, but I've heard that Rebekah does a lot better with communication once you've booked her.  I can totally understand that they get a ton of inquiries, the majority of which do not result in a booking, so it's hard for some of them to keep on top of it.  I'm using Bouquets of Austin and they've been very professional.  Maybe let them know that you'd really like to use them, but they need to do better on price?  I've also heard good things about Petal Pushers, so maybe try to get in touch with them once again.  I've never heard of Visual Lyrics, but showing up drunk is unforgiveable!  Another recommendation I have is Beth with Exquisite Petals. We really liked her but ended up going with Becky at Bouquets because we had a family connection.

Petal Pushers is amazing!  Definitely give her another shot.  I know that she was out of town most of December for a destination wedding Florida.  Having Stacey and her team do your wedding flowers is defintely worth it.

Oh, I totally understand... but my frustration is different. I booked Wow Factor Designs back in August, but she refused to sign a contract with us. Her office has now called us twice asking us if we want to book them as our florists. After calling back and emailing, I get lots of "I'm so sorry that happened" but at this point, I'm ready to dump them and find another one... 3 months before my wedding!! I'm completely stressed out about it!!

Sorry for my little rant, but I wanted to warn people about them and I just needed to vent! :-)

I'm working with Petal Pushers and they have been an absolute dream to work with so far!! Maybe it's the holidays? Try them again - I'm so happy that I went with them.

The only fault Rebekah had with the glass fountain was communication.  She was hard to respond to emails at times, however if I called her it was a bit easier to communicate though.  I still highly recommend her and with her price and the work she does, you won't be dissappointed.

David Kurio is the best florist I have ever come across.  He is not inexpensive but you will not be disappointed.

If you are still looking, check out Rosehip Flora. Beautiful designs (even their website is cool) and Erin and Sarah are extremely responsive, sweet and very willing to work with your budget. www.rosehipflora.com

I second Donna Foster with Central Market Floral Dept. (Lamar location).

Great flowers, more flowers than other florists had quoted me, and 1/2 to 2/3 cheaper than other price quotes.
