Place for Alterations?

Does anyone know of a good place to get my dress altered? I have to get it done sooner rather than later for bridal pictures in like october. I need a place I can trust and that isn't very expensive. I am having a hard time even thinking about leaving my dress with someone I don't know.

I took mine to my dress shop, so you might call some in the Austin area.

I didn't get my dress from a dress shop. It was a rental place that was going out of business so they were selling all the dresses for the rental price. They have closed since. So I need to find a local place. I don't think dress shops will work on a dress that they didn't sell you.

I think there is a place called Alex Gavela in Austin that will. I have heard of several brides using them for outside alterations.

Nelda's Tailors at Airport and Lamar.  They are great, and very reasonably priced.

Wong Long is who I'm going to for my alterations. She is fantastic and has tons of experience! I just recently went to my second fitting and her work was fantastic. She works out of her house off of W. St. John's. Apparently she is a recommended seamstress for my bridal salon, Belle Saison, and Balina.

Wong is great too, but her prices are slightly higher than Nelda's.  But she is fantastic!

we used  Alex Gavela they were just great, went to them after the place we purchased the gown ruined it!  yes, they ordered a new one and we choose to go elsewhere.  The prices were not cheap, but in line with other places.  they were very professional and very helpful!
