Outside Organic Wedding

I'm looking for great outdoor venues in Texas for late September, preferably in the Austin area (but not a must), with plenty of trees and organic ambiance at the ceremony site but not too ranchy/country. I've found a few that I like, but I'm not in love yet. Any suggestions?

Re: Outside Organic Wedding

  • Have you tried laguna Gloria? Its beautifiul and outdoors. Down one trail there is an area surrounded by trees you can have a ceremony site at. There are actually several areas some in front of water to have a ceremony. We did not pick this venue because it becomes pricey because it requires you to rent everything (chairs, tents, next) from outsidevendors. If i could if afforded it i would of. I am getting married at the Vista on Seward Hill. I love it. It's got a nice large garden area with tress for an outdoor ceremony with a fountain ( kinda Tuscan look). Do not let the website deceive you...I actually wasn't planning on looking at it because I did not like it from the photos but fell in love with it when I went and saw it. I believe they have open house on Wednesday evenings but if you call them you can set up a time to check it out. The owners are really nice and the DJ is included in the rental. Hope that helps.
  • Funny, I was going to recommend Mayfield Park, which is right next door to Laguna Gloria (central Austin area). It's a garden setting (ponds, trees, very pretty, lots of shade). Also, it's probably less expensive, as it's a public park.
  • I'm just getting into these boards, but we're getting married at the Winfield Inn in Kyle this November. Not too far from Austin and a beautiful organic outdoors but not ranchy feel. We're having a destination wedding from LA and just couldn't be happier with the choice. Price is very reasonable as well.
  • My husband and I have started a wedding venue ten minutes from San Marcos close to Kyle. It is about 55 minutes from San Antonio. Our goal is to provide beautiful, affordable weddings and not compromise beauty. Our venue is a Texas mansion style two story home with wrap around porch and second floor balcony. There are beautiful trees and ample parking. Wonderful ceremony sites and outdoor area for cocktail hour and also plenty of room for banquet tables. Inside the formal dining and living seats 40 for a sit down dinner reception with additional seating on the porches. We can accomodate large and small weddings. We are also wedding officiants so our current special is 1/2 off of the wedding officiant package on our large wedding package and $25 off of the officiant services for a small wedding package. Our small wedding package is for three hours and is $600 and includes banquet tables and chairs, full use of the bridal suite and groom's suite, use of the house and grounds. The large package is $1500 and includes overnight accomodations in the home, and half off of the wedding minister package and can accomodate 120 guests. For a few pictures, see our venue at www.charmedweddingsofaustin.com; however, we will be getting new pictures soon that are beautiful and feel free to contact us to schedule an appointment to see our venue. We are located on plum creek so we also have a waterfront property. Our ceremony sites are very beautiful as well and we have ample parking. Our venue is The Hopkins House.

We consider ourselves organice as we garden and my husband makes cans salsa from his garden tomatoes and cilantro. He also makes homemade laundry detergent. He makes these items and can make them in bulk if you wish to have them as gifts and favors for your guests as they are garden grown vegetables and homemade laundry detergent that he puts in containers with ribbons around them. We do have miniature horses that we board in a pasture area that are away from the venue. We do our own landscaping, we do everything ourselves, we are starting this from the ground up. The home is beautiful and quite modern with luxury accomodations.
