favors...

I need some opinoins on my wedding favors.  I am going to either do a cookie bar for people to take home as a little midnight snack, or make applebutter for the guests to take home.  One of the things that is keeping me from making a decision is the cost.  Cookies will be much cheaper and easier, but I feel like the guests might enjoy the apple butter more. Also the apple butter needs to be made now while apples are less expensive and in season.  We are doing the whole wedding for under $5000, so budget is very important.  What do y'all think?  Thanks so much ladies!

I love the apple butter idea, but could you do that for only your WP or something, and put out cookies for everyone?

I dunno-- I have always been the one who thought wedding favors were pointless, thus is why we are not doing any. I always feel bad when people spend money on favors, and then 99% of the time I throw it away as soon as I get home. Edible is always better, but if it were me, and you had a cake-- I would take the cake and skip the cookies. No matter what-- everyone will enjoy an extra sweet. :)

For the bride on a strict budget who wants to have favors I would suggest edible as they are more likely to not get thrown away. Another idea would be to get cheap plastic favor bags with ribbon of your color choice and get custom M&Ms made. Its cheap and easy and they will get ate.

We were on a budget and favors were a casualty.  No one even noticed. It's nice if you can do it (especially edible!) but it's no big deal if you cannot.

<div>Yeah we weren't going to do favors either, but then we realized that they would make an awesome escort card idea, so we did it. Super cheap though, and if they get left behind I won't care really because I love them and would be happy to take them home :o)</div>
