Shoreline Grill?

Does anyone know the price for this venue? Any comments about it?

My MOH use to work there for about 5 years and their coordinator isn't that good now days.  Since their old coordinator left, weddings haven't run as smoothly.

Shoreline was one of the places that I looked at for my wedding.  The prices were reasonable and the location is nice.  I loved the idea of holding my cocktail hour on their downstairs patio overlooking Town Lake.

A lot of information is actually listed on their website - cost of ceremony, dancefloor, options for dinner menu.  You have to dig around a bit but it's there.

Pros: You get great views and nice Chiavair chairs  at no cost.  The food is good.  Not terrific, but good. The costs are reasonable.  I think I was quoted around $11K for a 140 person reception.  It's downtown which makes planning an after party especially easy.  There are nice places along the hike and bike trail for your wedding guests to wander without going too far.  I think you could actually have a very nice daytime wedding here for a reasonable price.

Cons:  The wedding coordinator there is an airhead.  I've heard others on this board report bad experiences with her.  I had to beg her to prepare a cost quote for me.  She was not the easiest person to get in touch with, even though I work in the same building as her!  What a moron.

You can't bring in your own alcohol, so expect to pay a premium for drinks.  I would definitely do a limited bar in order to keep down costs.

The ceremony site was a bit too public for my FI.  If you do your ceremony there you have to keep in mind that there will be random people walking by on their way to the Four Seasons or running on the trails.  Another bad thing about the ceremony site is the steps.  You have to walk down like 3 flights of steps to get to the ceremony site.  Imagine how nervous you are going to be anyway, then imagine having to walk down the aisle with Dad, except that the aisle is 3 fligths of stairs!  That was a deal breaker for me b/c I am clumsy.  I hope this helps.

Just wanted to add that I have had a great experience with the Shoreline Grill so far. My wedding is this weekend and I have enjoyed working with the coordinator. Prices are great and we love the location.

Shoreline Grill was definately an option for us. The price wasn't too bad, considering it's a nice restaurant, good food, and a nice location. But I started obsessing over the ceiling! I don't know if I'm weird or what, but I noticed it in people's reception pictures, and so I decided against it.
