wedding coordinator fees

Hi everyone,  I was hoping some of the Austin brides who are working with (or have worked with) a wedding coordinator can help answer a question for me.  When the coordinator gives you the amount she'll be charging for her services, is that the exact fee or is it subject to sales tax?

Subject to sales tax I believe because it is a service.

Services are not subject to sales tax, although some vendors still collect it.  Also, if you are paying for services and items on the same invoice, then you will be charged sales tax on everything.  I never charged sales tax when I had my event planning company when I was only doing planning for a client.

Thanks ystaalenburg for including your post.  Our coordinator confirmed that the invoice had sales tax because it included some rental items.  It caught me off guard because I thought the invoice was just for the remaining balance for her coordinator fees.  I now understand :-)

We're working with planners in Austin and they are not charging us sales tax. It's basically one fee.
